Mindful

Short, gentle reads for everyday mental wellbeing.

How we treat your visit.

Mindful is a static website of essays. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comments, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts. The site sets no cookies and does not write anything to localStorage or sessionStorage.

Cloudflare, our host

The site is served by Cloudflare, which also runs DNS for our domain. Every request you make to mindful.engg.app goes through Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes standard request data to deliver and protect the site: your IP address, the page or file you asked for, the time, your browser’s user agent and the referring page. Cloudflare may keep this in its request logs. What it collects and how long it keeps it is covered byCloudflare’s privacy policy.

Images from Picsum

The photos at the top of essays are placeholder images fromPicsum. Your browser loads them frompicsum.photos, which redirects to fastly.picsum.photos. Every page also tells the browser to open a connection to those two hosts early, so they can see your IP address and user agent even on pages without a photo. No other third-party host is contacted when you read the site.

Fonts

Fraunces and Newsreader are bundled with the site from Fontsource packages and served by Cloudflare with everything else. No request goes to Google Fonts or any other font service.

Offline copies on your device

Mindful registers a small service worker so pages you have visited, and the site’s own styles, scripts, fonts and images, can be cached in your browser. That cache is how the offline page works. It stays on your device; we never see it. Clearing site data in your browser removes it.

Links to other sites

Some pages link elsewhere, for example to a helpline directory or to our code on GitHub. Those sites are only contacted if you follow the link, and their own privacy policies apply once you are there.

Children

Mindful is written for adults. We collect nothing from anyone, children included.

Changes and questions

If the hosting or anything else on this page changes, we will update the page. To ask a question or report a problem, open an issue onthe Mindful repository on GitHub. The rules for using the site are in the Terms of use.
